What transpired is that Classic Doom 3 1.1 did not work correctly due to the steam version of Doom 3 being fully patched to version 1.3.1. Over the past month, since the release of Doom 3 on the Steam network, a number of team members were contacted exponentially by players about errors with Classic Doom 3 1.1 when used with the Steam version of Doom 3.
Due to this, the past Flaming Sheep Software coder SnoopJedi released an update patch, 1.2, for Classic Doom 3 on his own accord, which gave compatibility with version 1.3.1 of Doom 3, but introduced a number of fatal bugs. When Doom 3 patch 1.3.1 was originally released, we did not update the code as it was not seen as a major update to the base Doom 3 game.
